BET Awards 2014

     Yesterday was the first showing of the 2014 BET Awards hosted by comedian Chris Tucker. His skits provided him with a positive response from the audience influencing over 8 million tweets on twitter with hashtag #BETAwards. The show included performances from artist such as Pharrell alongside Missy Elliot, Chris Brown, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, August Alsina, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Jhene Aiko, Lil Wayne,Trey Songz  and several others. The closing performance was a projection of Jay Z and Beyonce from there “On The Run” tour.

     Singer, song-writer and actor Lionel Richie was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award and performed hit songs “All Night Long” and  “Easy Like Sunday Morning”. John Legend and Yolanda Adams both paid a tribute to him by performing his songs as well. An appreciation was also presented for the legendary author Maya Angelou who is now deceased.

Keshia Chante, Adrienne Bailon, and Shad Moss hosted the BET Awards Pre-Show on the red carpet. Shad Moss, also known as Bow Wow, made it clear that he would prefer to be referred to as Shad as he moves forward in his career. Adrienne greeted celebrities as they arrived on the red carpet discussing their wardrobe and taking a stream of selfies while Shad and Keshia introduced energetic perfomances by Tinashe, Rich Homie Quan, YG, Meek Mil, French Montana, Rick Ross and more. All the host were enthusiastic and as numerously repeated “hot”.
